‘MAKERSPACE’
Libbie was successful in writing a project application as part of a Creative Health Place Partnership fund with Medway Council. 'Evolve' is an 11-month action-learning opportunity for 8 creative practitioners to take their practice to the next level through mentoring, guidance and seed funding.
She is delivering 'MAKERSPACE', a series of visual arts and wellbeing sessions for young people (ages 11–25) in two Medway Youth Service youth clubs. The project creates a "maker space" in a corner of the youth session where participants can explore mindfulness, resilience, and self-care through creative expression.
MAKERSPACE aims to reduce isolation, support mental health, and empower young people to build confidence and community. The project is co-designed with participants to ensure agency and that activities meet their needs and interests. Future ambitions include expanding to local hospitals and securing more funding to support young people's mental health.
